Everyone is welcome to train in any class, regardless of rank or experience. Visitors are welcome to watch.

Please note that the class schedule and Instructors will change due to COVID-19 circumstances and may be adjusted without notice. We are working to establish confident training opportunities and are updating the schedule regularly. Shindai Weekly Class Schedule


Fasen Sensei  –   1st class: 5:30-6:30 PM

Nito Ken / Jo – Aiki principles using two sword, ASU Bokken Kata 1- 12 / ASU Jo kata. Weapon unification mechanics.

Tim Magill Sensei   –  2nd class: 6:30 – 7:30 PM

General class focus at Tai Sabaki. Body/mind/spirit unification


Phil Ott Sensei – Noon to 1:00 PM . Beginners and all others.


Canin Sensei   – 1st class: 5:30 – 6:30

Aiki principles and movement.

Ola Karasik Sensei   –  2nd class: 6:30 – 7:30

Aiki principles and movement.


Phil Ott Sensei – Noon to 1:00 PM .  Beginners and all others.


Kristen Kuebler Sensei   –  1st class: 5:30-6:30


Dan McCartney Sensei   – 2nd class: -6:30 – 7:30 PM



Fasen Sensei   –  1st class: (Aikido Jo ): 10-00 – 11:00 AM

The focus is on ASU Jo Kata 1-6 and Patrol Kata and weapon handling. Please Contact us regarding the Saturday classes. We may hold these classes (weather permitting) outside during Covid so more may join in. They will be held at Dartmouth Park off of Edgewater Drive in College Park.

Dimitri Deglas Sensei   –  2nd class: 11:00 – 12:00

This Covid Aikido class will be evolving to articulate through movement, the mechanical and internal foundations of Aikido. Dimitri Sensei brings unique perspectives after years of study with Daito Ryu Ginjukai under Okamoto Seigo Sensei.


Gillespie Sensei   –  9:30-10:30 AM

Beginners & General Class


Made to feel welcome from the time I walked into the dojo. Had a great workout and shared ideas and techniques with some talented friendly people. Would recommend this school to anyone interested in learning both the physical and mental aspects of martial arts.

Class Descriptions

Beginners Classes
Introduction to Aikido training procedures, Budo principles, and the dojo standards/etiquette. Emphasis is on Ukemi and techniques through standard ASU 5th kyu waza. If you have never trained Aikido or any martial art before, this is a place to begin, but you are not limited to these classes. These classes are ideal for new students.

General Class
Open to all levels / (principle) articulation through waza (technique).

Yudansha and Instructor-level Classes
Everyone is welcome to participate, but the training vocabulary and concepts are presented focused on more experienced evolving Aikidoka.

Buki Waza
Weapons study and integration of weapons principles as they relate to movement in ASU Aiki and empty hand training.
