Current Shindai Aikido Class Schedule

Everyone is welcome to train in any class, regardless of rank or experience. Visitors are welcome to watch.

Please note that the class schedule and Instructors are subject to change.  We work to create substantive training opportunities for everyone. We update the schedule regularly with appropriate instructors. Shindai Weekly Class Schedule

Monday: 5:30- 6:30 & 6:30-7:30​ Brian Canin Sensei
The first class is focused on the fundamentals of Aikido, all are welcome.
The second class is limited to Ikyu and above, or by invitation from Canin Sensei. Contact for permission or if you have questions.
Tuesday:  5:30- 7​  Magill Sensei
Wednesday: 5:30- 6:30 Phil Sensei / 6:30 – 7:30  Ola Sensei 
Thursday: 5:30- 7​ Fasen Sensei

MONDAY

THURSDAY – General

Yudansha level focus on Aiki principles &  mechanical application within taijutsu and weapons. Weapon unification mechanics. Aiki internal concepts.

FRIDAY – General

Kristen Kuebler Sensei   –  Kihon Waza principles & Fundamentals  … Aiki Tai Sabaki

Dan McCartney Sensei   – 6:30 – 7:30 PM – Kihon waza principles & Fundamentals  … Aiki Tai Sabaki

SATURDAY – Yudansha level

Fasen Sensei –   9:30-11:00

The focus is on Yudansha level  unifification principles, weapons handling & integration, along with ASU Weapons Kata. 

Dimitri Deglas Sensei   –  General  2nd class: 11:00-Noon / Daito Ryu Aiki jujitsu

This Aiki class will be evolving to articulate, through movement, the mechanical and internal foundations of Aikido. Dimitri Sensei brings unique perspectives after years of study with Daito Ryu Ginjukai under Okamoto Seigo Sensei.

Made to feel welcome from the time I walked into the dojo. Had a great workout and shared ideas and techniques with some talented friendly people. Would recommend this school to anyone interested in learning both the physical and mental aspects of martial arts.

Class Descriptions

Beginners Classes
Introduction to Aikido training procedures, Budo principles, and the dojo standards/etiquette. Emphasis is on Ukemi and mechanics using standard ASU techniques through 5th kyu. If you have never trained Aikido or any martial art before, this is a place to begin, but you are not limited to these classes. These classes are ideal for newer students.

General Class
Open to all levels / (principle) articulation through waza (technique).

Yudansha and Instructor-level Classes
Everyone is welcome to participate, but the training vocabulary and concepts are presented focused on higher ranked, more experienced Aikidoka.

Buki Waza
Weapons study and integration of weapons principles as they relate to movement in ASUkata, Aiki and empty hand training.
