Everyone is welcome to train regardless of rank or experience levels. Visitors are always welcome to watch classes.

Please note that the class schedule and Instructors are subject to change.  We work to create substantive training opportunities for everyone. The class instructors may change as circumstance requires. Shindai Weekly Class Schedule

Monday: 5:30- 6:30 & 6:30-7:30​ / Brian Canin Sensei – 6th Dan
The first class focuses on the fundamentals of Aikido. All are welcome. 
Tuesday:  5:30- 7:00​  Steve Fasen Sensei – 6thDan – Chief  Instructor.   Kihon principles & concepts through connection and the Aiki body. Understanding ASU weapons. 
Wednesday: 5:30- 6:30 Phil Sensei- 3rd Dan , 6:30 – 7:30 & Ola Sensei 4thDan.
Aikido fundamentals  & Tai Sabaki
Thursday: 5:30- 7:00​ Steve Fasen Sensei – 6thDan – Chief  Instructor.  Advancing Kihon principles & concepts through connection and the Aiki body. Understanding ASU weapons.

Senior Instructor Focus

The first class is focused on the fundamentals of Aikido, all are welcome. Advanced investigation of Aiki principles. are foundational for the second session.

TUESDAY  – General

Steve Fasen Sensei 

Chief Instructor of Shindai Dojo – ASU 6th Dan / Senior Instructor – Ueshiba Juku

The focus of these classes is on unification principles, the internal/external mechanics of Connection, developing the Aiki interaction,  weapons handling & integration into the Aiki Body, along with ASU Weapons Kata. We look to build a deeper understandin through unification mechanics to enhance Aikido dialogue, including Aiki internal concepts.

All are welcome to attend. Individual attention will be given to everyone at their experience level.

Integrated special Aiki instruction

Dimitri Deglas Sensei   –   Daito Ryu Aiki jujitsu

This Daito Ryu Aiki jujitsu class is available to all Aikido students held to articulate, through movement, the mechanical and internal foundations of Aikido.  Historically foundational to the evolution of Aikido, Dimitri Sensei provides his experienced perspectives after years of study in Aikido and with Daito Ryu Ginjukai under Okamoto Seigo Sensei.

Class Descriptions

Beginners (Mudansha level) Classes
This would define a focus on entry level and minimal martial experience to Introduce Aikido training procedures, Budo principles, and the dojo standards/etiquette. Emphasis is on Ukemi and physical mechanics using standard ASU techniques. If you have never trained Aikido or any martial art before, classes with this designation is a place to begin, but you are not limited to these classes in any way.

These classes are ideal for newer students.

General Classes
These classes , like all classes, are open to all levels. They provide greater integration for the student through articulation of the “language” of Aikido through waza (fundamental technique). 

Yudansha and Instructor-level Classes
Everyone is welcome to participate in these classes when they occur. The teaching however will focus on a more experienced understanding of vocabulary and concepts . The presentation will be focused on higher ranked, more experienced Aikidoka and black belts.

Buki Waza / Weapons Classes
Aikido Weapons study, and the integration of weapons principles as they relate to movement in ASU kata, Aiki and empty hand training.  Depending on the distribution of the participants, Fasen Sensei will teach to the most experienced person on the floor.
