Class Descriptions
Fundamentals/Basics Classes
These classes have a focus on Aikido basics, training procedures, fundamental Budo principles, and the Shindai dojo standards/etiquette. Emphasis is on Ukemi and physical mechanics using standard ASU curricula and techniques.
These classes are designed for students with less experience. If you have never trained Aikido or any martial art before, these classes are the place to begin and grow. You are welcome however, to participate in other classes as well.
Concepts Classes
Everyone is welcome to participate in these classes, regardless of experience. The direction of the class will range from a more experienced understanding of Aiki concepts and movement to advance Yudansha training.

Buki Waza / Weapons Classes
Aikido Weapons study, and the integration of weapons principles as they relate to movement in ASU kata, Aiki and empty hand training. At the discretion of the teacher, any class may spend a part or most of a class on weapons study.
Yudansha Classes
The focus of these classes is to advance unification perspectives and principles through developing the Aiki interaction, weapons handling and evolving Aiki Body. We look to build a deeper understanding through unification mechanics to enhanced Aikido dialogue, including Aiki internal concepts and studied teaching techniques.
These classes are available for yudansha only.
“Made to feel welcome from the time I walked into the dojo. Had a great workout and shared ideas and techniques with some talented friendly people. Would recommend this school to anyone interested in learning both the physical and mental aspects of martial arts.” –
