Gi / Hakama / Weapons

These are only suggestions. Your preferences and choices will be determine by you over time.

Keiko Gi – Training uniform

Requirements: to start you do not have to wear a Gi. Loose clothing is sufficient. In time however, you should have a white Gi. This provides uniformity. The only thing allowed on the Gi is the ASU patch.

Over time, the level of experience will be reflected in uniform choices.  These are personal preferences in weight and material.  Some prefer a Karate style Gi, some a Judo Gi. Time will tell. What is listed below are only suggestions based on practitioner experience.

Beginners Gi: We do not recommend the cheapest Gi. This is a decent 8 oz material which will last a bit longer, but it is lightweight to start.

Beginners Uniform     $28.00

This comes through Amazon so it will be shipped directly to you.

Summer/ Student Gi:  This is a good step up product. It is 10 oz. but still lighter for summer and wears well. Plenty of room to allow movement. Washes well and is fairly soft. Longer Jacket and shorter sleeves.

Mugen Red Label Gi.  $43.00
