My apologies for not updating this page until now.

John Messores Sensei (ASU 7thDan) will be leading a seminar that will include the testing.

Friday: 7 – 9 to accommodate those driving in.  Regular Shindai classes start at 5:30.

Saturday: 9:00 to 11:30 – Lunch – 3:00 to 4:30 / Sandan testing

Sunday: 10:00 to Noon / Shodan & Nidan testing

This schedule is subject to change  driven by the number to testing candidates per Messores Sensei’s direction.

The seminar fee is $90.00

To accomodate scheduling and retesting a second testing seminar will be scheduled to be held roughly 6 months from the traditional August testing event, which rotates among the Florida ASU dojo’s. The decision to have this  event every January at Shindai Dojo will be made around the August event every year.

The purpose of this event is not to create just another seminar, but instead to appropriately craft the first event of its kind dedicated to providing a consistent venue for ASU students from across the US to test in front of a qualified panel of instructors, and to foster inter-dojo friendships through the bonds forged from testing together.

While it is preferable to test senior ranks in ones home dojo in order to include dojo training partners, friends, family and recommending instructors, Florida has gathered its ASU Dojos into an extended family structure. This has become a reunion celebration of sorts along with a confirmation affirmation of commonly held expectations and standards.

It is intended that qualified candidates will have the opportunity to perform their test in front of a large and significant board made up of the recommending instructors, along with senior ASU Sensei of 5th, 6th and 7thDan ranking.
